Jealous
Kimberly
„You are simply overreacting Jeremy!“
„How am I overreacting. Do you have a dick or me?“
„Psht, you want my parents to hear us?“
„I’m just saying Lisichka, you don’t know how men think. You should’ve let me handle this“
„And kill him?“
Cecily got louder with every word. Jeremy and her were staying over the weekend, I invited them to Xanders half-dismay.
Half because he loved seeing his babygirl but he still hated Jeremys guts, no matter how much he saw that he was good for her. He just couldn’t accept it.
I was in the kitchen when I heard the two enter the living room. When they left they were all cute and in love but it seems like that the mood changed drastically.
„Now you are overreacting.“
„Then tell me Jeremy, what would’ve you done if I didn’t interfere? You had that poor boy pressed against the fucking table in the middle of the restaurant“
I gasped. I never heard Cecily cuss and it sounded weird from her mouth. I sighed when I put the cake I was working on aside, deciding that I should intervene before it got worse.
When I entered the living room I saw both of them starring daggers into each other what looked more scary from Jeremys side because of his statue and dark demeanor.
„Honey? Jeremy? What is going on?“
Instantly Jeremys shoulders relaxed and he put on his charming smile.
„I apologize Kim, we were just having a discussion“
„What discussion allows you to yell at my daughter, you fucking parasite?“
I closed my eyes, flinching slightly when I heard my husbands voice behind me. He must have entered through the back door through the terrace. I looked back at him and watched him losen his tie and though this was not the time to think like that, that movement never failed to turn me on.
He put down his bag and moved over to us, giving me a quick peck before he turned back to the kids.
„It’s not a big deal Dad, we just had a small misunderstanding“, Cecily tried, forcing a smile that she never managed to do perfectly. You could always see through Cecily’s mood as she was never able to hide her true feelings. That’s were Jeremy and Cecily were opposites. You could always tell that my daughter was hiding something where as Jeremy seemingly had perfected his reactions and attitude accordingly to circumstances.
„Exactly, your daughter completely misunderstood a gentleman“, Jeremy added sneakily making Cecily glare at him. He just grinned at my husband because he knew it bothered him.
„I hope it’s her feelings for you“, Xander said dryly, crossing his arms in front of his chest.
I sighed.
He narrowed his eyes glaring at Jeremy. He would never stop making Jeremy feel unwelcome until he died it seemed.
I sighed again, stroking my husbands arms, feeling him visibly relaxing.
„Now kids, you want to tell us what’s going on? Maybe we can help you guys with the issue. I don’t want to see you fight“
„No, let them, Green, maybe she will realize what an asshole he is“
I gave my husband a warning look which made him role his eyes in a frustrated way before he nodded towards the seating area. Cecily wanted to protest but before she could say something Jeremy already joined us. He was too polite to decline us anything.
Also the glint in Jeremy’s eyes gave away that he for sure thought that he was right.
„This is really unnecessary Mum, couples fight“
„They do, yes, but why yell at each other when you could use the time for more beautiful things“
„Like breaking up“
„Xander!“
„Dad!“ My daughter and I said at the same time, looking at him scoldingly. This man was honestly something else.
Jeremy started first, completely ignoring Xanders comment and looked directly at me.
This boy had something so charming and sweet I just couldn’t help myself but love him every day a little bit more.
The changes Cecily went through because of him and the confidence he gave my little girl were just factors that would make me forever grateful that he existed.
„We were at a japanese restaurant Cecily wanted to go for a while now. She had to use the bathroom and some fu- some guy, had the audacity to hit on her and make her uncomfortable“
„That’s not true“, Cecily said, groaning in frustration. „The poor guy just asked me for my number which is alright“
Jeremy tensed next to Cecily, his hands turning into fists when he tried to remain calm.
„In what world, Lisichka, is that alright?“
„I mean he wasn’t disrespectful in any way. He was very nice and polite about it and I was about to tell him that I already had a boyfriend“
„What happened then?“, I asked.
„Jeremy here, attacked the poor boy before I could even open my mouth. He totally demolished half of the restaurant and threw him on a table. It was a disaster!“, my daughter exclaimed, turning red. Jeremy didn’t budge a bit. He was confident with his reaction and obviously didn’t think that he did anything wrong. He spoke calmly.
„He obviously saw us together at the table why the fuck would he wait for you to leave the table to ask for your number?“
„How do you know he knew?“, she asked sarcastically.
„Because I know men“
Cecily groaned loudly in frustration.
„You are being delusional“
„I am not“
„You are, you almost killed that poor guy-„
„Stop calling him like that! He had it coming, Cecily, and you know I am right“
„No, you are not!“
„He is right“
Silence suddenly stretched across the room when my husband spoke up, face still hard when he sat leaned back against the couch, holding my hand in his.
„Dad?“ Cecily asked with a shocked expression.
„He is, and it pains me to say it more than for you to hear it baby, but you don’t know how men are. And we do. That guy had it coming“
Jeremy’s lips twitched at that and he looked down to hide his smile. I bit on my bottom lip to prevent a smile myself.
Of course these two would bond over the obsession and ridiculous possessiveness of their women.
„Mum? Please help me out here or I am going to lose it“
I took a deep breath trying to find the right words to tell Cecily, that there was no way in hell that we could convince these men from the opposite.
„I understand you, hun’, I really do but these men-„
„Don’t even try to sugar coat it, Green, we are right.“ Xanders eyes moved over to Jeremy who looked back at him with no fear and pure confidence.
„Did you kill him?“
„I tried it, Sir“
„What held you back?“
„Your daughter“
My husband looked back at Cecily with a disapproving look that made my daughters mouth drop in shock.
‚What the fuck is going on’ was written clearly across her face before she looked at me with pleading eyes. All I could give her was an apologetical shrug.
„I’m sorry baby, but you wanted a man like your father“
„Easy right there, that asshole is nothing like me“
I rolled my eyes and looked at Xander. „Really? Because you were not above murder yourself when you saw Aiden console me. Or when I had a date with Ro-„
„That was NOT a date“, Xander growled.
„You had a date with uncle Ronan?“
Xander jumped up, glaring down at us.
„No. She. Didn’t. The discussion ends here. And you, honey, next time don’t interfere when a fucking cockroach tries to approach you. And you, might be right this time but I still hate you!“ He pointed at Cecily before he pointed at Jeremy. He bend down to kiss my temple before he grabbed his bag and disappeared upstairs mumbling ‚fucking Ronan‘ on his way.
I giggled behind him, shaking fondly my head. This man would never change.
From the corner of my eye I saw Jeremy carefully grabbing Cecily‘s hand. She flinched for a second but then she met my eyes and I smiled at her softly. She knew this wasn’t worth a fight and she would eventually be able to make him aware of any missteps of their relationship. Though our men are possessiv and ridiculous at times they’d do anything to make us happy and forgive them even if it meant to go against their own nature.
Cecily smiled back at me before she rolled her eyes and interlaced her fingers with her boyfriend.
„Well, who wants some Russian honey cake?“ I clasped my hands after standing up.
Jeremy looked up at me with sparkling eyes.
„You are the best, Kimmi“
„It‘s Mrs. Knight to you, you motherfucker“ Xander yelled from upstairs.
